Hema Mullur

Hema Mullur is an associate attorney at Ross Scalise Beeler and Pillischer. Hema joined the team in 2025 after receiving her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, Hema had a long career as a broadcast journalist, most recently serving as the evening anchor at CBS Austin News for nearly a decade. During her career in journalism, Hema earned a Lone Star Emmy and a Texas Associated Press award for Best News Anchor.

Whether as a journalist, or now an attorney, advocacy has always been a driver in Hema’s life. She has told countless stories on television from the underdog’s point of view, helping to get results when nothing else could. She looks forward to doing the same for her clients, telling their stories with the same care and attention as she zealously fights for their rights.

Hema completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, earning both a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors. Hema is deeply committed to doing good in the Austin community, and gives her time as a board member for the Austin Public Library Foundation, the Plan II Honors Board of Visitors, and the Girl Scouts of Central Texas. She lives in Austin with her husband and young daughter.
