The impact of civil claims on community safety and well-being is not something that gets much attention. The ultimate result of successful personal injury or product liability cases can be that all of us and our children have safer cars, prescription drugs, medical devices, and many other products. Civil claims can lead to safer drinking water (as in the case featured in the movie, “Erin Brockovich”) and the reduction of environmental contamination.
On a more immediate and personal level, it is important to us at Ross • Scalise Law Group to be involved with our community by helping those in need and championing worthy causes. Organizations we support include:
- Texas School for the Deaf Holiday Giving Program
- The Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault at the University of Texas at Austin
- KEYE-TV No TXT Zone Campaign
Our “Giving Together” program invites our clients to make a donation of $10 to $25 from the recoveries in their cases to one of several selected community organizations such as the Food Bank, SafePlace, or Austin Animal Center. Ross • Scalise Law Group will match each donation. By giving together, we can make our community a better place.
We are proud to be a part of the Texas School for the Deaf Holiday Giving Program, which allows participants to volunteer their time, make a gift donation, make a monetary donation, sponsor a student, or sponsor a family.
Ross • Scalise Law Group also works with SafePlace to help the women and children who seek assistance there and to increase public awareness of sexual assault and domestic violence. In 2011, our attorneys and staff provided holiday gifts for ten families who were staying in SafePlace shelters.
